Hydration

  • Adults: drink 300-500 ml of water
  • Children: Intnvenous hydration 10- 1 i ml/kg over 30 min


Patient must void before starting study

Tc-99m DTPA

  • Adults: 15 mCi (555 MBq) IV
  • Children: 200 UCi/kg (2 mCi minimum, l0mCi maximum)IV


Tc-99m GH

  • Adults: 20 mCi (740 MBq)IV
  • Children: 200 UCi/kg (2 mCi minimum, l0mCi maximum) IV


Tc-99m MAG3

  • Adults: 3-5 mCi (110-185 MBq) IV
  • Children: 100 UCi/kg (1 mCi minimum to 5 mCi maximum) IV

[edit] Time of imaging

  • Blood flow: 1- to 2-sec frames for 60 sec
  • Dynamic: 30-sec frames for 25 min

[edit] Equipment

  • Camera: large field of view gamma
  • Collimator: low energy
  • Window: 15-20% window centered over 140 keV

[edit] Procedure

  • Routine renal imaging: supine, posterior
  • Renal transplant: patient supine, camera anterior over allograft
