Stage Definition
Stage I Confined to the uterus
Stage IA Confined to the endometrium
Stage Ib Invades less than 50% of the thickness of the myometrium
Stage Ic Invades greater than 50% of the thickness of the myometrium
Stage II Cervical invasion
Stage IIa Endocervical invasion
Stage IIb Cervical stromal invasion
Stage III Tumor outside of uterus but within pelvis
Stage IIIa Invades serosa and/or adnexa or positive peritoneal cytologic findings
Stage IIIb Invades vagina
Stage IIIc Pelvic and/or paraaortic lymphadenopathy
Stage IV Tumor extends outside pelvis or invades bladder or rectal mucosa
Stage IVa Invades bladder or rectal mucosa
Stage IVb Distant metastasis (includes intraabdominal or inguinal lymphadenopathy)
