 Discussion of Jones fracture
- AKA Dancer's fracture.
- A Jones fracture is a fracture at the base of fifth metatarsal at metaphyseal-diaphyseal junction.
- A Jones fracture is located 1.5 to 2.0 cm distal to tuberosity of 5th metatarsal
- Should not be confused with the more common avulsion fracture of the base of the 5th metatarsal (pseudo-Jones fracture) as treatment is different.
- Treatment is with cast and crutches (no weight bearing).
